Another home defeat for Quins this time in a tightly contested match with a late try taking away the chance of a loosing bonus point! Once again Quins were cheered on by a great crowd, many of whom stayed behind for some great live music!
The match started well for Quins with Ryan North dotting down for his 1st try of the season. Lee Pearn burst through the midfield and his offload to Ryan allowed him to run down the wing to get the try! Gordano then pulled one back and got the conversion giving them the lead, shortly after Quins saw Kelvin Hawkes sent to the bin for a deliberate knock on just outside the 22. Following successive penalties, Gordano extend their lead. Still with only 14 men on the pitch the lads got the ball through the hands quickly to Ryan North who, once again, crossed the whitewash with Chris Page converting from out wide to level the match. Daniel Pearce was then sent to the bin for Quins. All square at half time 12-12.
Quins, as in the first half, scored first in the second. The pack choosing the pick and go route leading to Lee Pearn eventually bursting through to get his 5th try in 2 games under the posts for Chris Page to convert! Following a kick over the top with no one at home for Quins, who couldn't clear their lines clearly, Gordano managed to pull a try back from out wide. Quins had the lions share of the possession for the remainder of the match but some poor handling and decision making led to the ball being turned over repeatedly. Gordano got themselves into the lead and with not long to go crossed for a 4th time to get the bonus point win and deny a valiant Quins a loosing bonus point! A fantastic match to watch and some real positive to take forward for the season from Quins!
