Quins made it back to back victories at Valhalla ensuring that their 100% home record continued and also making us the top home points scorers in the league and making Valhalla the biggest fortress in the league too!
Kick off was delayed by 10 minutes for this clash due to the ongoing road works around Valhalla but that did not delay a great start for Quins. They applied the pressure from kick off and eventually got over the line. Some superb hands to work the ball wide, unfortunately in the build up Quins lost Ed Wander with a hamstring injury but he still managed to offload the ball to Dylan Pearce to slide over the line. Quins had a great opportunity to double their lead but a long pass over the top was intercepted. The Quins try was a wake up call for Winscombe who put the pressure on themselves. Quins made to pay for missing tackles out wide for Winscombe to score but missing the conversion. Just moments later Winscombe took the lead through a penalty for a high tackle. Quins then struggled to clear their lines and gave away another penalty which Winscombe slotted home. Quins then regained their composure and got themselves down into the Winscombe 22. Then a fantastic turn over at the lineout led Quins to hammer the ball wide with David Priddy sliding in out wide with Chris Page converting from the touchline.
Half Time: 14 - 11
Quins continued to apply the pressure into the second half and it eventually paid off with a great forwards move with Dave Young at the back of the rolling maul and another conversion from the touchline from Chris Page. After this the match turned into a hotly contested midfield battle with both sides struggling to make a decent territory gains. Winscombe missed a penalty with 10 minutes to go. With the last play of the game Quins secured the bonus point through Craig Spiller sliding in out wide.
