Quins kept up their winning start to 2024 against local rivals Bristol Imperial II making it five wins in a row for the mighty blue, black and white and the first shutout of the season!
It took Quins just 4 minutes to open the scoring at West Town Lane. Working fast to get into the Imperial 22 early on with George Phillips eventually reaching out to dot the ball down over the line. Less than 10 minutes later Quins had their 2nd, completely overpowering Imperial at the scrum the ball was working quickly to the centre for Lee Pearn to slide over for his 8th of the season. Quins kept the pressure of for the remainder of the half camping out in the Imperial half of the pitch. After winning multiple penalties it was a tap and go from captain Daniel Pearce who managed to smash his way through the Imperial defence to score Quins 3rd and Pearce’s 8th of the season making himself and Pearn joint 2nd top try scorers for in the league! All three tries converted by Fly Half David Priddy.
Half Time: 0 - 21
The 2nd half bought much more of the same. Quins camped out inside the Imperial half and looked dangerous despite Imperial’s efforts. Unfortunately, despite the sustained pressure Quins could not get over the line again. Imperial did have moments when the broke that looked dangerous, but the Quins defence stood firm.
