Both teams showed great determination to get this match underway, opting to play 12-a-side to ensure the game could go ahead.
Bristol Harlequins started strongly, racing to an early 12-0 lead thanks to tries from David Priddy and David Lloyd. However, they were forced into an early change, losing Harley Pearce to a shoulder injury. Oldfield responded, pulling one back, but Quins quickly replied with a try from Adam Gittens. In an end-to-end contest, Oldfield scored their second try, but Bristol Harlequins continued to press forward. Finn Belcher and Enan Jones added two more tries, securing the bonus point. David Priddy then crossed for his second try of the match, and there was still time in the half for Dylan Pearce to add to the scoreline.
Half Time: Bristol Harlequins 41 - 14 Oldfield Old Boys II
The second half began in a similar fashion to the first, with Oldfield starting strongly and crossing for their third try of the match. However, Bristol Harlequins soon took control, running in five back-to-back tries. Louis Meacham scored twice, Dylan Pearce grabbed his second, and Jacob Hilder crossed the line before David Priddy completed his hat-trick. Oldfield managed to secure a try-scoring bonus point before the Quins unleashed another flurry of tries. Jacob Hilder added his second of the game, Ryan Morgan ran in two, and even head coach Iain Grieve got in on the action, crossing the whitewash.
It was an enthralling and entertaining game of rugby, showcasing a fantastic performance from Bristol Harlequins. While they will be overjoyed with the victory, they may feel a touch of disappointment in allowing Oldfield to pick up a try-scoring bonus point.
