In their first home game of the season, Bristol Harlequins looked to extend their unbeaten run and did so in style, securing a comprehensive 55-14 victory over Yatton.
Quins got off to a blistering start, scoring two tries within the first seven minutes. Ed Wander opened the scoring, swiftly followed by Lee Pearn. Yatton responded with a try of their own, narrowing the gap before Ryan Morgan restored the home side's advantage. A brief setback came when Harley Pearce was forced off with a dislocated shoulder, but his brother Dylan Pearce stepped up to secure the all-important bonus point with a try just before the break.
Half Time: 26 - 7
The second half started just as strongly for the Quins. Louis Meacham crossed the line early on, and Ed Wander followed suit just five minutes later, bagging his second try of the match. Yatton managed their second score of the day, but James Woodman responded with his first try of the season to put the game well beyond reach. In the closing stages, Quins ran in two more tries in quick succession, with both Dylan Pearce and Lee Pearn completing their braces. David Priddy added the extras with five successful conversions.
Bristol Harlequins’ dominant performance keeps their 100% start to the season intact and propels them to 2nd in the league, level on points with Keynsham II, the only other unbeaten side in the competition. A strong start to their home campaign, Quins will be eager to carry this momentum into the next fixture.
