Clevedon RFC

Bristol Harlequins RFC extended their unbeaten league run to seven straight wins in a commanding performance at Valhalla, with a stunning 85-17 victory over Clevedon II. Ahead of a well-deserved rest week, the Quins dominated from start to finish, showcasing a relentless attacking style that saw them rack up 13 tries.

The opening half set the tone for the game, with Ed Wander crossing the line first, followed by David Priddy converting to put the Quins on the board. Moments later, Dan Pearce added his name to the score sheet, and Wander went over again for his second try, with Pearce also securing his own brace. With four tries on the board, the Quins quickly claimed their bonus point, but they didn’t stop there. Wander completed a hat-trick before Dylan Pearce stepped up to score twice in quick succession, converting one of his own tries. Lee Pearn rounded off the first-half try-fest, leaving the Quins in a dominant position.

Half Time: Bristol Harlequins 52 - 0 Clevedon II

The second half saw no let-up from the home side. David Lloyd scored Quins’ ninth unanswered try, but Clevedon II finally responded with a try of their own. Dylan Pearce then sealed his hat-trick, while Lee Pearn added his second try. Clevedon managed to cross the line twice more, but these efforts were sandwiched between further scores from Jacob Hilder and Billy McGowan, rounding out the Quins’ haul at an impressive 13 tries for the afternoon.

This emphatic victory, capped by a relentless push for points even after a comfortable half-time lead, keeps the Quins’ perfect record intact as they head into a break. Although the lads were a little disappointed to concede three tries, their commitment to maintaining pressure on Clevedon until the final whistle made for a memorable performance.
