Bristol Harlequins II marked their first home game of the season in a thrilling Valhalla double-header, edging out Yate II in a fiercely contested match.

Quins side stormed into an early lead with trys from Joshua Larke-Phillips and Chris Young. Yate responded, clawing their way back into the game, but a missed conversion allowed Quins to maintain their lead. Just before the break, Charlie Cook crossed the line for another try, though Yate managed to close the gap with a score of their own.

Half Time: 21-19

The second half saw a resurgent Yate II press hard, but Quins continued to battle, with Louis Parsons adding another try to the tally. Joshua Larke-Phillips grabbed his second try of the game, and his pinpoint accuracy with the boot – maintaining a 100% kicking record – proved decisive in securing a nail-biting one-point victory for Quins.

This hard-fought win marks only the second actual league match for Quins IIs, following a couple of walkover victories. With Avonmouth Old Boys II, the current league leaders, visiting Valhalla next weekend, Quins II will hope to build on this momentum and start a run of positive results.

Final Score: Bristol Harlequins II 35-34 Yate II
