Conversions: David Priddy (4)

A good outing for our squad played over 4 20 minute quarters so we were able to try out different combinations and players playing in different positions as with a small squad this could prove Handy as the season goes on.

1st Quarter

Game started as physical as you would expect from 2 squads with something to prove. 10 minutes in following a solid Quins scrum and some quick hands in the backs young Dylan Pearce went around his man to score under the posts. This was followed by scrum half Kane Burchill shrugging off a couple of tackles to score bringing the end of the 1st quarter to a close with both tries being converted by David Priddy.

2nd Quarter

The second quarter started as the first finished despite 4 changes to the side along with some positional changes. Dave Priddy powering his way over from the back of a dominant ruck from the Quins pack converted by himself. Final 5 minutes of the half saw Christian Templar go over after some good work by the forwards following a 5 meter penalty to see the half finish 26 - 0 to Quins.

3rd Quarter

10 minutes into the second half saw Kingswood score after going blind from a scrum after a lapse in concentration. Quins responded almost immediately with a try from veteran front row Gary Britt, playing in the back row, going blind of a ruck from 22 metres out and throwing a sidestep, which knowing Mr Britt, was a accident as he loves the contact that boy. Then a few minutes later some strong running from our forwards again provides a platform for a debut try for new prop Gami Moyo to power his way over from close range. Seeing Quins go into the final quater with the score 5-38.

Final Quarter

The final pierod of play started with a try for Kingswood following an alleged high shot from Dave Priddy, with some confusion as the game was allowed to play on regardless of the player being knocked out! Following the try Quins regained control of the game and ended strongly scoring the games final try from captain Dan Pearce. Overall Quins can take plenty of positives away from this game and still some things to work on.
