Quins delivered a resounding response to last week's defeat, overwhelming Gordano II at home with an incredible 11-try performance. The victory was a statement, showcasing Quins' attacking flair and intent for success this season.
The match started with Quins hitting the ground running, building an early 14-0 lead courtesy of Trys from Ed Wander & Ryan Morgan, both converted by David Priddy.
However, Gordano quickly regrouped, responding with two Trys of their own to level the match.
Quins swiftly reasserted control. A penalty from Priddy restored their lead before Lee Pearn exploited a tap-and-go penalty inside Gordano's five-meter line to score.
The forwards then displayed their strength with a dominant driving maul, finished by Dan Pearce, securing the bonus point. Priddy added another penalty to give Quins a commanding 32 - 14 lead at halftime.
The second half saw Quins continue their dominance. Priddy opened the scoring converting his own Try after a well-excecuted line out. Billy McGowan followed with a moment of individual brilliance, chasing his own kick into Gordano's 22 to touch down. The backs combined seamlessly off a Quins scrum, with Priddy's delayed pass setting up Ed Wander for his second. Wander turned provider, breaking through the line and offloading for Dylan Pearce to cross.
With the backs running riot the forwards weren't to be outdone with another devastating driving maul, this time finished by club captain Gary Britt. Jacob Hilder added another Try out wide, with Priddy continuing his fine form from the tee. McGowan then completed his brace, twisting and turning through the Gordano defence to score under the posts with Priddy, once again, adding the extras.
Gordano managed a late consolation try in pursuit of a bonus point, but it was too little, too late with the refree's whistle bringing the game to an end. Quins silencing their critics and reasserting themselves as genuine title contenders!
