As Bristol Harlequins RFC return to league action following the Christmas break, both senior sides find themselves well placed as the season moves into its second half, with plenty still to play for across the coming months.
Despite a disrupted end to 2025, the club enters the New Year in a strong position, with league standings that reflect solid foundations and the potential to build momentum as fixtures resume.
1st XV – Counties 3 Tribute Ale Somerset North
The 1st XV currently sit 5th in the Counties 3 Tribute Ale Somerset North table.
While the side have dropped a place since the last round of fixtures, this comes following the postponement of the final game before Christmas against Gordano RFC, a fixture that was understandably called off following the sad passing of Arthur. The club once again extends its thoughts and condolences to all those affected.
With that fixture still to be rearranged, the Quins hold games in hand over several teams above them, leaving the 1st XV firmly in the top half of the table and in a strong position to challenge as the season progresses.
Performances across the opening months of the campaign have shown resilience, consistency, and encouraging signs in both attack and defence, giving the squad plenty to build on as they return to competitive action.
IIs – Bristol & District 2
The IIs head into the New Year sitting 8th in Bristol & District 2, but the table position only tells part of the story.
Recent weeks have seen steady improvement in performances, with the side gradually closing the gap on 7th place. Strong commitment, growing cohesion, and valuable game time across the squad have all contributed to a positive trajectory heading into the second half of the season.
With league positions tightly contested, a consistent run of results could see the IIs climb the table as fixtures resume.
Looking Ahead
With the Christmas break now behind them, both senior sides return with renewed focus and ambition. League positions remain close, games in hand could prove decisive, and the opportunity is there for Bristol Harlequins RFC to make a strong push as the season unfolds.
As always, the support of members, supporters, and the wider Quins community will play a vital role as the club looks ahead to the challenges and opportunities of the months to come.
